Stokey Plant Hire Ltd was established in 1967. Its main function was to supply the aggregates industry with large rip tractors (from 20 to 120 tonnes) to fulfill specialised short term plant requirements. This specialisation has grown to include excavators from 12 to 80 tonnes, dump trucks from 30 to 40 tonnes, tracked loaders and hydraulic rock breakers. Stokey has become synonymous with big machine hire however over recent years the fleet has expanded to include smaller machines.

The plant fleet is considerable and widely distributed throughout the country. The constantly changing operational circumstances at the large number of sites are monitored and controlled from the company's operation centre at Wolverhampton.
 
Stokey has 40 years experience in providing plant where you need it - whether for dozing, excavating, ripping, loading or carrying. A large part of the expertise comes with the company's operators who are trained in all aspects of machine operation, safety and daily maintenance. All operators carry a CITB Licence and attend regular safety awareness courses and training sessions. Many are employees of long standing who recognise that they too have a vested interest in customer satisfaction in all aspects of the hire contract. They can be relied upon for their co-operation and their willingness to act as a natural extension of the customer's own on site team.
